Oreshki are beloved walnut-shaped shortbread cookies found across Slavic kitchens for generations — a treat many grew up baking with their grandmothers. Two delicate, buttery cookie halves, pressed in a traditional walnut-shaped mold, are joined with a generous filling of caramel (dulce de leche), creating that unmistakable melt-in-your-mouth bite of nostalgia.

I make them by hand, to order, the classic way — no shortcuts, no machines pressing out hundreds at once. Each cookie is shaped one at a time in the same walnut mold that's been used for this recipe forever. Same shape, same taste, same everything as back then.

Because they're made to order, every batch is fresh — nothing sitting around waiting to be sold.

Good with tea, good as a gift for someone far from home, good for eating three in a row and pretending you'll stop after this one.

Ingredients: Wheat flour, butter, condensed milk (caramel), eggs, sugar, vanilla sugar, walnuts, baking powder, salt. Contains: gluten, dairy, egg, nuts.

Handmade to order in Stockholm — pickup or delivery.
